Litha: Braid a Flower Crown

Litha is a time of abundance and merriment. The sun rises high in the sky and the days are shortest, making this the perfect time for a manifestation ritual. In this ritual we’ll be braiding our manifestation into a flower crown.

Choose what you want to manifest. Manifestation rituals are most fruitful when you already put in the work. If you’ve actively been sending out job applications, working on your couch to 5K training, or swiping for love online—those are good areas for manifestation.

Alternatively, this is a good time to follow-up on any seed or intention rituals you have cooking.

Begin by picking any flowers you associate with summer. Dandelions, daisies, buttercups, and wild chamomile are excellent flowers. Add flowers and fresh herbs that suit what you’re trying to manifest, like caraway for love. Be mindful not to pick a flower patch empty—take a few flowers per patch, then move on. Ask the flowers if they’re okay being picked, and offer something in return like watering the patch or dropping seed bombs next spring. Make a note to keep any promises you make, or you may yet find the manifestation undone.

Next, braid your flower crown. Any childhood flower braiding technique works, or you can find excellent tutorials online. It doesn’t matter what your flower crown looks like, so long as it’s made with care and intention. As you braid, visualize the steps that got you to this point, then the remaining steps you need to take, and finally your desired manifestation. Going back to our example of finding love, the first flowers might represent installing the dating app and every “didn’t go anywhere” swipe. The next flowers represent the qualities you look for in a partner, as well as the qualities you possess that a partner should appreciate. Finally, the last flowers represent finding that person and the relationship you want to build with them.

Keep visualizing while you braid. Vocalizing also helps if your brain struggles with visualization—maybe create a chant or poem while you work.

The ritual is complete when the crown is done. Follow your intuition on what to do with it next—wear it, give it to someone else, add it to a Litha bonfire to send your manifestation on flames into the heavens, or cast it into the river to carry your desire far and wide.
