New Moon in Taurus: Layering Up the Taurus and Gemini Energies

Christie Beauchamp

The New Moon in Taurus on 19th May marks yet another opportunity for some new beginnings and fresh starts. This time around, we’re still enjoying the grounding and stabilising Taurus energy, and yet we’re on the precipice of the curiosity and versatility of Gemini season.

As a fixed earth sign, Taurus is all about grounding, stability, and building solid foundations, so this is a perfect time to set some intentions around your finances, career, and material possessions, as well as self-worth and values. We’ll be on the run up to the Summer Solstice soon, so consider how you can make the most of this year’s energetic climax.

In contrast, the energy of the Gemini zodiac sign is also in the air! We’ll be welcoming in Gemini season tomorrow (20th may), so embracing what each of these energies presents us with allows us to explore this lunar cycle in a different way. Gemini is a mutable air sign, and it represents communication, curiosity, and versatility, and this energy can help us to adapt to changing circumstances, connect with others, and explore new ideas.

So, how can we incorporate both Taurus and Gemini energy into our New Moon intentions and practices?

1.Focus on your values and resources

Taurus is all about knowing your worth and what you value most in life. Use this New Moon to set intentions around your financial goals, career aspirations, and material possessions. What do you want to build, create, or manifest in these areas? Make a list of what you want to achieve and take practical steps to make it happen.

2. Embrace curiosity and adaptability

Gemini energy is all about being curious, adaptable, and open to new experiences. Think about how your intentions could include expanding your knowledge, exploring new ideas, and connecting with others. You could take a look at learning a new skill or read a book on a topic that interests you. Or, make an effort to connect with friends or family you haven't seen in a while.

3. Incorporate grounding practices

While Gemini energy is all about exploring and expanding, it's important to stay grounded and focused on your goals (even if those goals are restful ones). Use Taurus energy to incorporate grounding practices into your New Moon rituals, such as meditation, yoga, or spending time in nature (check out our blog post from last week for tips on how to do that). This will help you stay connected to your values and focused on your intentions, even as you explore new ideas and experiences.

As we move into Gemini season, let's embrace the energy of curiosity and versatility, while staying grounded in our values and goals. Let’s celebrate this unique combination of energy and get ready for a new cycle.
